Dying is not for dilettantes

Irving Lavin, Bernini e il Salvatore. La "buona morte" nella Roma del Seicento [Bernini and the Savior: "Good death" in 17th century Rome], transl. by Silvia Panichi, Rome: Donzelli, 1998, pages 110, with 74 pictures. It puts together a set of essays that offer a wonderful, brilliant insight into the Renaissance/Baroque Era: art (prints, sculpture, architecture, city planning), religion, society, charity. Incidentally, Pope Innocent XII proved "bolder" than Pope Francis.
