Un(s)even: Abducted!

(by Selkis; a detail)

Torquato Tasso describes the final flight of the blessed towards heaven as of people transported by UFOs, piloted by angels. Flying vehicles of the "gods" appear in literature starting from the most ancient civilizations of the Earth; in this case, the poet's direct sources were Homer and Virgil. But Tasso, in Il Mondo Creato as well as in both Jerusalem-poems, further develops the science fictional aspect.
